Frank Lloyd Wright (American, 1867–1959) aspired to place a series of semi-abstract compositions on the covers of Liberty magazine, formed in the likeness of the Saturday Evening Post. None were used by the weekly—Wright’s drawings seem to have been a bit too daring—but the avant-garde designs have become decorative elements in projects through the years, from rugs to an art glass mural and more.
