October 1997 Hardie Grant Publishing launched with five staff - Fiona Hardie, Sandy Grant, Julie Pinkham, Penny Rankin and Fran Berry.

December 1997  First book Antonio Carluccio's Complete Italian Cookery released.

March 1998        Hardie Grant Magazines launched with Clemenger a 25% shareholder.

April 1998         Hardie Grant Books' first Australian book released for the Adelaide festival - Labels, by Louis de Berniere.

October 1998    Hardie Grant first magazine is published for Ansett International.

April 2002  Hardie Grant Publishing forms new business Hardie Grant Egmont to publish childrens books in partnership with Egmont Ltd UK.

August 2002  Hardie Grant Publishing acquires Explore Australia from Penguin.

2007 Hardie Grant Publishing celebrates ten years of business

2008 Hardie Grant Publishing and Egmont Ltd form 50/50 relationship for Hardie Grant Egmont

2009 Hardie Grant Books London opened

February 2010 Hardie Grant Egmont acquires Little Hare Books

January 2011 Hardie Grant Magazines acquires Jigsaw Media in Adelaide, now Hardie Grant Magazines Adelaide office
