What was your favourite book as a child?
My mother's big blue Family Circle childhood ailments guide. I would steal away with it and diagnose all my rashes and scratches and bruises. My mother cleaned out her bookshelves a few years ago and tried to throw it away, but I saved it for my own kids to read.
Who would you most like to sit next to on a tram?
I am deathly afraid of meeting my favourite authors, but luckily I also suffer from Facial Recognition Blindness – so I would like to sit next to John Green or Dave Eggers or Meg Rosoff and have a nice chat, but not realise until later who they were.
